High Peak Station is a well-established sheep, cattle and deer farm located in the foothills region of Windwhistle, central Canterbury. Situated in a wide valley near the head of the Waikirikiri (Selwyn) River alongside neighbouring Quartz Hill Station, the two properties offer more than 7,500 hectares between them. High Peak produces export grade wool, venison, deer velvet, lamb, beef and honey, and facilitates certified ethical hunting experiences.
Guests on the Tūtira experience at High Peak and Quartz Hill have exclusive access to some classic Canterbury hill country landscapes, ranging from stoney river beds in the broad valley floor to dense beech and manuka forests topped with tussock-covered ridges with views across the Torlesse range and past Mt Hutt up the Rakaia River valley towards Arthur’s Pass National Park.
During the day, guests use late model electric motorbikes to explore the stations’ unique landscapes while learning about the history and heritage of the area from their knowledgeable local guide. In the evening guests enjoy quality cuisine prepared by the on-station chef, staying in authentic, newly-renovated lodgings.

"For almost 50 years we have carefully developed and nurtured this challenging property, focusing on managing the land sustainably, protecting the endemic flora and fauna, and prioritising the welfare of the animals in our care. We’re proud to share our home and heritage with our guests”
High Peak Station has a detailed sustainability action plan that includes understanding the estate’s carbon impact, protecting native forests and habitat for biodiversity such as the native New Zealand falcon, and applying best-in-class animal welfare measures.
The 10% donation made by Tūtira on behalf of all guests contributes to this action plan by supporting work in the areas of biodiversity enhancements and protection through native tree planting and fencing, and the control of invasive species.
Tūtira also offsets all greenhouse gases emitted by guests during their experience, including flights.
