The welcome trail
The first day of the experience is a half day, with guests arriving by private transport in time for lunch. Following a short briefing, guests are introduced to the electric motorbikes and provided with all the necessary gear. Guests and their guide then depart for the first stage of riding, enjoying a gentle introduction to the farm and the equipment before returning to their accommodation around 5pm. Drinks and a chef-prepared three course meal are provided in the evening.
The grand loop
Day two is the biggest day of riding, with guests and their guide encouraged to depart the accommodation by 9am. Day two takes guests to some of the highest points of the property and provides an opportunity to explore up to 30 kilometres of wide open backcountry. Guests will experience the ins and outs of a working high country farm and learn about the heritage and history that makes our stations unique. Our guide will point out endemic and introduced species along the way, and will highlight the unique aspects of each farm’s environmental story. Lunch and refreshments are provided throughout the day and guests return to the accommodation by 5pm. Drinks and a three course evening meal provide the perfect end to a big day.
The path home
The final day of the experience provides an opportunity for guests to explore hidden parts of the property’s landscape and heritage. After a leisurely breakfast, guests can expect a short morning ride to a number of vantage points that showcase the history of the farm and demonstrate some of the conservation of regeneration initiatives. On day three guests are encouraged to make the most of opportunities to hop off their bikes for a short walk or to get their hands dirty by helping on a project that will have a long term impact on the farm’s sustainability. Transfers back to the nearest major airport or city depart at around 11:30am.
