JUSTINE & GEOFF - OWNERS
"This place is truely unique. You can't help but feel inspired by the landscape and rugged beauty of the Station. We hope our efforts to apply best-in-class stewardship of our land and regenerative farming practices inspire others to think differently about carbon, conservation, biodiversity and animal welfare."
A CLIMATE POSITIVE EXPERIENCE
Every Tūtira guest supports on-station regeneration and conservation efforts
The team at Lake Hāwea Station have a bold ambition to contribute actively to tackling New Zealand's climate change challenge while preserving and regenerating their landscape. With a focus on premium outputs, the station is moving rapidly towards the application of modern farming and soil management practices that sacrifice short-term gain for positive long-term impacts on the environment, animal welfare and ultimately wool and meat quality.
The 10% contribution made by Tūtira on behalf of all guests supports this bold ambition by supporting the planting of over 10,000 native trees each year, amplifying a large scale lake front fencing project, and helping to protect rare and endangered species like the Clutha Flathead Glaxid and Grand Skink.
Tūtira also offsets all carbon emitted by guests during their experience, including flights.
