Lake Hāwea Station is one of New Zealand's finest high country land holdings. Situated on the eastern shore of Lake Hāwea in the picturesque Queenstown Lakes District, this 6,500 hectare property produces top-grade Merino wool used by leading fashion brands, high value lamb and purebred Angus beef.

Guests on the Tūtira experience at Lake Hāwea Station enjoy exclusive access to a diverse and dramatic landscape, rising from the pristine lakeside to tussock covered tops and endless rolling backcountry. The breathtaking scenery is complemented by an innovative vision and attention to detail that is evident throughout the station. The station has a bold target of becoming ten times carbon negative while conserving and restoring rare biodiversity and introducing regenerative farming practices. This Carbon Clear station balances a rich history and heritage with a pioneering view to the future.

During the day, guests and their guide use late model electric motorbikes to explore a range of previously unseen landscapes and alpine terrain. In the evening guests enjoy cuisine made from the best local ingredients, and exceptional on-station lodgings.

    A climate positive experience

The team at Lake Hāwea Station have a bold ambition to contribute actively to tackling New Zealand's climate change challenge while preserving and regenerating their landscape. The station is moving rapidly towards modern farming and soil management practices that sacrifice short-term gain for positive long-term impacts on the environment, animal welfare and wool and meat quality.

The 10% contribution made by Tūtira on behalf of all guests supports the planting of over 10,000 native trees each year and helping to protect rare and endangered species like the Clutha Flathead Glaxid and Grand Skink.

Tūtira also offsets all greenhouse gases emitted by guests during their experience, including flights.
